Week 53
Workers from Big W wood plant in Stayon, OR were sent to the hospital after eating holidays cookie police believe might have been doped with pot. The wife of a co-worker is the plant manager of that site! I wonder what she has to do now. In Longview, there are several securities checkpoint located at various entrances, you can't really get in with out being checked, they also do random car search!
I have been dealing with the blue dye system in the last several weeks. The clean up effort was slow and frustrating. It was completed days ago and maint. contractor was contacted for repair work. Things took a wrong turn and now we are back to having messy and corrosive dye outside of the containment because some careless practices and inproper ways of switching a empty tote sometimes in the past 48 hours.
I am on cruise control mode in work week 53, just trying to float with 4300fpm. By the way, I am starting to be a penny pincher, well ok, just for work! (THURS)I just asked the piano man-twin to make some additivies adjustments and we saved $10/ton. Not bad, but could be better! Seattle Times with back wet edges are the hot topic!
Find out mentor JH got a promotion in ALB and SP, I think, good for him! Horace is nice and have send me an email to say hi. It's important to know that I am somebody. I miss having him around. He is a great teacher. But afterall, he is only a phone call away.
There was fire and medical emergency call, this time is for real and the individual was transported to the hospital. It was very disturing and the exceptional YTD safety record may go down to toilet! RIR <1! Wish I could do something to prevent it!

Sun Bowl Part II, OSU won!
Oregon lost to BYU in Vegas; AZ State lost to Hawaiiin Honolulu ; UCLA lost to FL State in SanFran. Pac 10 gotta be better! California won against TX A&M, 45-10! OSU WON, playing Missouri in Sun Bowl in El Paso 39-38. It was a nail biting event and I was cheering for them with Roberta at work.
Go Beavs!
The other pac 10 team yet to play is USC to Michigan.
Angela is engaged!!!
SAD!
What happened to this adorable cutie? I am not lovable anymore. I really need to shake off the moldy blue and get ready for 2007!

Sylvia Plath
I saw Sylvia Plath last night and found the story powerful and irnoic. Highly recommended and warning, it will get you depressed!
Hot Pot Craving
Buddy 2310 talked about Hot Pot and I decided that it's about the time to have one!
A date on Friday night!
I read that there is a outbreak of Norwalk virus (aka stomach flu) in japan. The rumor is no SASHIMI for a a while... ..

Excessive!
Is he really worth that much! Is anyone?
How much rear end do you have to kiss to earn that kind of bonus?
Would he share a few million if I ask nicely? What if I ask *really* nicely?

Work week 52
As the last 2 weeks of 2006 approach, I have been busy at work, although I have a hard time seeing much progress, since most of my compliments have to do with being foreman before. The machine is finally starting to run well, but my daily activity is mostly restricted to chemical process monitoring. I have also been keeping busy working on safety, including a recent MERS' drill, where I got to save a 50 year old woman. I was placed in charge of the scene, a diabetic patient with a heart condition and no pulse or circulation. Even with CPR and the work of the whole team, we lost our patient. Hope I do better next time!
I also enjoyed my first quarterly envirnomental advocate meeting. It was a little intimidating to think that the responsibility lies with ME! Of course, it always does, for everyone in the mill.
In my free time (what's that?) I picked up a tutoring student again. The preparation is very demanding, and good practice for me to brush up on my rusty skills from school. It's tought to tutor after a long day at the mill, but good for holiday bills. In what little time I have left, I have been trying japanese learning! Buddy 2310 got me an audio program, and I picked up some isolating headphones, but there is only so much Japanese I can absorb in one day - most of it goes in one ear and out the other.

Curse of Golden Flower滿城盡帶黃金甲
I heard so-so review about Zhang Yimou's latest release. What I walked away from the review about his 3rd martial art movie was about Color, martial art scene and Gong Li's cleavage.

Chemistry is so much fun!
Molarity, percent yield, limiting reactants, acid-base reactions, redux reaction, ideal gas law, polarity - kill me please. All of this is basic stuff, but I don't really use it in my day-to-day work. It's tough to dredge my memory for all these ancient theories. Especially so late in the year. But it is good for me to exercise those rusty brain cells. Just a guaranteed headache after a long haul at the mill, though.

Going Nano and loving all the calendars
Outside of Old town P! Getting luck with a parking spot out front & center! You liked my work clothes?
Chemical engineering.
What do I do exactly? 2X4, I hate that~ Lately, I've been asking myself that question and I needed WIKI to tell me. I kid you not. Actullly, I am playing with cutting edge technology! We are gonna make nano fiber for NP2/3/1! Let's hope so in 2007! We need capital for reactors and all, but wait a minute, we have no $$$$$. I hope to be on the team! Nano fiber was the most exciting thing happended this week! NP! is runnning good with speed! 8 days without a cut break!
I got my 4th calendar today. Kemira's cities. Another pretty one, but seriously, how many calendars do I need? Other practical x'mas gift would be nice. Last year, I got a wreath from a vendor. It was awesome, but expensive.

SUCKED!
My car stereo got stolen! Some low-life broke into my civic and ripped the music maker out. I feel so violated and alone without my NPR. After being all psycho with the trauma, Jackal=ScaryFish got ok and moved on with the weekend stuff. The highlights were:
1. Evening with 2 blonds, Mr. Bond & the self-proclaimed Mr. very very good looking. New_007 is good looking without the 2 verys. I enjoyed the movie alot. I am looking forward to "Bond 22".
2. Kevin’s engagement news
3. Dinner with Janet
4. Panic attack from the disappearance of David and his office hottie D girl
5. Paul Gauguin 保羅·高更:So far, I got three-2007 calenders. The first one is from Mom with Chinese date on it. The second one is from BIGW, the themes is Wild life, very pretty winter wild life animals (gave that to mom). The third one is the paintings of Paul Gauguin. The calendars/ders are both very nice-looking!
