On this Shabbat, may you open your heart to the joy that is the gift of your life, and may it fill you utterly, up to the brim, with peace. Shabbat Shalom. - Rabbi Ariel

Regret is a legitimate emotive response after not experiencing what was hoped for, expected, or invested in. But when regret is abandoned — left alone, only to exist on a regular feeding of misery and never gets processed — it just becomes unresolved grief set on replay, over and over again, congesting our heart and detaining other vital and life-affirming experiences from accessing our being.
There is something more for you than what never transpired. There is something other than what never came to be. After allowing regret to teach what you needed to understand about yourself — after feeling it fully, acknowledging how much it hurt — there can be a shift. A birth which peels away any blame, resentment, or need to make anyone else suffer.
In this new and pure place, we can start giving ourselves what was needed and allow space for real connections to flourish. We can look forward to fresher days and start over. Begin again with presence. Recommence real living, without our deepest regrets. Without the anguish of past disappointments. Without dragging along the weight of what was not meant to be. — Susan Frybort

There is a meaningful distinction between inquiry and assumption in personal relationships. Those connections that remain inquiry based- where each person asks the other about their intentions, motivations, and actions- have a tendency to last far longer than those based on assumption. When we can allow ourselves to remain genuinely curious about why someone behaved as they did, we keep the gate between our hearts open. We co-create an ongoing opportunity to grow individually and together. When we rely on assumptions as our interpretive structure- particularly those lodged in our own projections and limiting beliefs- we are far more likely to close the door to the connection and miss the opportunity for growth. The simple truth is that there are often countless possibilties for why someone behaved as they did. And the assumption that we make is often misguided. Better we inquire- wherever possible- so that the connection has an opportunity to grow in awareness and understanding. Being curious about those that matter to us, keeps the fires of relatedness alight. - Jeff Brown

“It is no secret that, for many, intimate relationship is one of the great amplifiers of the unlived life. We can count on our partners to relentlessly illuminate everything that is unresolved within us. Not because they have some agenda to do so, but simply by the nature of the crucible that is formed when we allow another to truly matter to us.
We come to our relationships with an already-existing patterning that formed long ago. While this template longs to be updated, until reconfiguration it looms over us and colors our perception. It functions by way of a time machine where, when activated, it is as if we have left the “here and now,” crossed the liminal, and found ourselves back in the “there and then.”
There are aspects of ourselves that are aching to come out of the shadows and into the warmth of holding awareness. Not to harm, but as emissaries of wholeness. There is nothing like a close relationship to remind us of the orphaned feelings and vulnerable parts that have lost their way in the tangle of somatic and psychic pathways. They are exhausted from a long voyage to reach us, but have not given up.
The reminder of this truth can at times be a bit agonizing, as the other seems to have extraordinary powers to open the raw, tender, and naked dimensions of our being. But this achiness is sacred. Inside the ache is a jewel. Go there.
Please be kind to your partners and the inevitable conflict that will arise as you make this journey together. Training ourselves to harness the energy of conflict – and engage it directly, skillfully, and with an open heart – is the activity of inner and outer revolution, and requires the encoding of new circuitry.
The transformative art of rupture and repair is one that is endlessly profound, revealing that relationships of vast depth and meaning are *not* those free of conflict, but ones where working through conflict is embraced as path, where the participants are transformed into an alive vessel of purification, love, and healing.
This is a difficult realization to come by, and one that is unfortunately not all that popular in a world that has forgotten the gold buried in the dark. But here we are. It is up to us to bring these fruits into the collective.” - Matt Licata

On Conservative Radio, Misleading Message Is Clear: 'Democrats Cheat'
Sometimes people walk away from love because it is so beautiful that it terrifies them. Sometimes they leave because the connection shines a bright light on their dark places and they are not ready to work them through. Sometimes they run away because they are not developmentally prepared to merge with another - they have more individuation work to do first. Sometimes they take off because love is not a priority in their lives - they have another path and purpose to walk first. Sometimes they end it because they prefer a relationship that is more practical than conscious, one that does not threaten the ways that they organize reality. Because so many of us carry shame, we have a tendency to personalize love's leavings, triggered by the rejection and feelings of abandonment. But this is not always true. Sometimes it has nothing to do with us. Sometimes the one who leaves is just not ready to hold it safe. Sometimes they know something we don't - they know their limits at that moment in time. Real love is no easy path - readiness is everything. May we grieve loss without personalizing it. May we learn to love ourselves in the absence of the lover. - Jeff Brown, An Uncommon Bond
