This blog is a way for me to communicate with web browsing friends all over the world, and will serve as a virtual diary for me to share my perspective on the weird in the world.

Some relationships are structurally unsound. They have a kind of fragility to them, that does not lend itself to healthy functioning or relational solidity. When the trigger-winds blow, they crash to the earth, unable to sustain themselves under strain. Sometimes, you can identify the primal cracks and get to work re-building the foundation, but sometimes you can’t. Sometimes they are too hard to see, or to feel, or to fix, and there is no way forward. This is not anyone’s fault. Some relationships simply don’t have the stuff of longevity at their roots. They are here for a bit, and then they are gone. The trick is not to pretend that they were something they weren’t. They may have been a great love, but love isn’t a self-fulfilling prophecy. It needs a rock-solid foundation to see it through. - Jeff Brown
