You are not soft.

You are not breaking
and
you are not fragile
despite
what the world
has told you.

You are not weak.

You are not dumb
and you are certainly
not failing.

You are not made
of inconsistencies;
theories, or incomplete
sentences.

No, none of that.

Please throw that madness
out the window.
You are a goddamn solider
in the middle of a war.

You are the goddamn
split second between
life and death.

Between what is certain
and what might never become.

You are the shooting star
that suddenly flashes in
the night sky.

You are all
the goddamn trees
in the world,
all the oceans,
and all the fires,
in one human.

You are what is left.

You are your ancestors'
legacy, their dreams, and
their aspirations.
You are the motionless rock
in a river full of lies.

You are.

You are.

You are.

Make your life count.

Fuel the fire,
and burn,
and be,
and become,
and do,
all the things for which

you were meant for. - Robert M. Drake
