Tikkun Olam by Leah Klass
Healing the world
the whole world
her round, warm belly
her soft hills and her jagged cliffs
her deep pools and her hot center
Healing and nourishing her babies
responding to their cries
such endless work
for those mamalehs
this bearing witness
to life
Softening,
so that the men might too
more than freeze or melt
might soften themselves
find peace
Healing the wounded
and the suffering
lending a hand
an open palm
joining in a moment of wonder
gifting a wash of hope
breathing in green, lush, moist
breathing out kindness, love
Healing the world
not only my world
not only our world
Healing the whole world
the WHOLE world
the world as one
Tikkun Olam.
