Reactions to Anthony Bourdain's death

This is beyond tragic. Ostinato’s work has been deeply inspired by Anthony Bourdain. He never portrayed any culture, country or people in a negative light. Not Iranians, not Palestinians, not Nigerians, not Mozambicans. No one, ever. He was not condescending or arrogant, nor did he have that whiff of colonial entitlement we find so often with storytellers from powerful countries. We hope to honor his legacy by continuing to shed only the most positive of lights on our collective humanity. What he did through food, we will continue to do through music. Thank you for fighting the good fight and Rest in Power, Mr. Bourdain. - Ostinato Record

It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something good behind.” - Anthony Bourdain

“I travel around the world, eat a lot of shit, and basically do whatever the fuck I want.” - Bourdain

"If I’m an advocate for anything, it’s to move. As far as you can, as much as you can. Across the ocean, or simply across the river. Walk in someone else’s shoes or at least eat their food." – Anthony Bourdain

"No one understands and appreciates the American Dream of hard work leading to material rewards better than a non-American." -Anthony Bourdain
