Hectic and Filling weekend

The weekend started off with a very stressful afternoon on Friday - instead of making it home early for some quality weekend time, I was stuck late. My otherwise wonderful week of white top ended on a sour note with some brightness issues that slowed down the machine - surprise! - bad clay was the culprit. That will take some sorting out, but it was thankfully a minor issue in the grand scheme of things.

When I finally made it home on Friday, I was late for the play I was going to see, and grabbed some pizza for dinner. I spent friday night playing board games and talking. Our game of Life (Simpson's Edition) was very intense, and fairly lengthy. We ended up being very close in money and tiles, and the anticipation built until I found out I had lost by $10,000. Dang it - even as the mayor I couldn't quite get enough bribes to win. Oh well. By that point I was tired, and ready for bed.

Happy B-day! Adam! Saturday was extra hectic with helpers painting and my usual last minute rush to get ready for a trip to P-town. I never seem to get on the road quite as quickly as I expect. Once in p town, I did some garage cleaning and spent some time with Tod and picked up my copy of "Fat Choy Spirit". Later in the evening, A and I filled up at the seafood buffet - he tried about 20 new things - an indication of his landlocked upbringing. Never tried mussels? Where has he been?

Sunday I was overwhelmed with food and had to nap it off for the afternoon.. I thought I lost my appetite for the day, and then filled up even more with a new year's dinner. Yum. New year is no different than any other festival, eating seems to be the fave past time event. They should make it into a sport. Oh.. wait a minute, they already do! You know, the very popular eating contest in ASIA! There will be another round of eating in my pad for sure; more practice for me to seek a ranking. LOL. The night came to a close with early bedtime, and posting to my blog (see?). Shout out to Tod - it's your year, Dog man! This week I should be catching up on my regular priorities, back to the chemical world. More white top performance evals, PMP eval, and preparing for upcoming Metso meeting. Another busy week for Boringfish.

In related news, Mom won the 'who called grandma first' contest. So much for my streak. I will continue New Year's greetings to family throughout the week. Happy New Year to you, as well, dear readers. Gong Hay Fat Choy (cantonese version) ;-) A

Trojan won.........grrrrrrr

A conspiracy is on the way, because my "Secret" tenant is coming. We are soon to be the hottest house full of girls on the block. We're getting close to finishing up some major handiwork around the house, and get things looking their best.

Austina/ Gang and I went out to dinner.... WOW...I would say the food was taster than maple garden.

Week 5 - This week is all about white top. It was my first run of the year, and not too bad if I do say so myself. I only had to stay until 7:30 one day of the week. There were a few scary moments because BASF blue dye were having its episode, the clay was having problems being unloaded, and the pumps went down for a while, but other than that we made some very handsome 56lb white top. Even my SF friends are glad that they weren't trying to compete with our awesome paper.

Chinese New Year is this weekend. This is going to be a festive weekend for me. Meanwhile, ppl are going to the mountains..Scott/Aaron/Dave!

Halo has taken over the TV, with two out of three inhabitants apparently glued to the Xbox controllers. Are you going to win that game already? And now we've got DDR freaks on the way, I'll never get to my MTV.

Richard called, and notified me that he is traveling to NC once a month for work, and I must say, Toledo is tempting, in spite of the "Friends don't let friends move to Toledo" shirt that I saw at Ross a few weeks ago.

Dave M 's visit was the hightlight of my week at work, reminding me of the good old days in N Bend, back in the storybook past.

OSU vs. USC men basketball
It was a pretty lousy, sloppy game, but it was a good show, and the Beavers fought hard into overtime, to be defeated in the closing seconds. Oh well, at least it wasn't a blowout. I'm glad that I got to go enjoy the game in person with my coworkers. (A).. Beaver is no IL team.

Weekend Fun & Work week 5

Last Friday, Wing & I went to Maple Garden for dinner; A came too and the conclusion was "Don't go back EVER!".

I went to P-town on Saturday to see the fam. Emily was being sweet & goofy, we were cuddling as I was watching TV, cute doggie, woof..woof!

I was being a mall rat, as well, just a little bit.. there was a new wing at Washington Square... pretty crazy with all the traffic flow.. and the shops.

Dave & I went snowboarding on Sunday at Timberline... finally again... the snow was so soft... Magic Mile runs were very chilly! I got a chance to try out my spanking new board....nice, light and waxy...but I need to adjust my center of gravity, learn to balance it & DON'T fall on my back/behind/head-face. I ended the day on the slope with NO broken bones, just lot of soreness and brusies. Mt. Bachelor or Ski Bowl will be the next New place, Timberline will always be the IT place.

Work week 5: all about white top, 56 strawsberry is the heat; DAF & Parcview! I am going to see Dave M on Wednesday, my old supervisor from NB. Yeah!

Jook! 粥!

AdamG & BoringFish at CareerFair

Jook was what I have been eating in the last few days. It's crappy to be sick and smelly.....

BUT I am happy that I am back to work, no longer missing in action with my team..responsibilites are good...they keep coming...

DAF optimization is a top priority, along with the prep of white top next tuesday . It's the first white run for the new year. Dry strength ordering was next on my plate; it was low on inventory. Parcview will be my new pet, new process. I am excited about that. New project for TMO, vactor effort... I should be the project assistant... yup... me again... the assistant.

As for DAF, with Dan's effort, they finally are willing to put in $ to upgrade the rej tank by enhancing its height! I want a bigger pump and many other stuff, too. They could have save all my heartburns so far if they were agreed to the recommendations 2 months ago. Oh well.

No more farm house lunches, yup.. the salaried luncheon is history. JY said " with its current business climate, it's not wise to keep it going".. I then recommended to folks about a new potential tenant for the faciliity....HH! A hot bath, professional chef kitchen...what else do you need?

Tapioca salesman and Boringfish had an interesting conservation today about domestical engineering. Apparently, he is looking for I am in searching of, except in (reverse gender). Very funny topic.

On the light side, I will be at the upcoming career fair in February for W. It should be interesting, considering I was there 3 years ago. Have I retained my youthful glow?

I will be babysitting a cat, MR. BILL in a few week.

I finally got myspace & humble cyber hut updated. I know... I am so slooowwwwww.

Gutter Fun & Egg Custard

Friday night, I went out with A to Fox & F for a drink..it was nice to go out, "unrewind" from the work week & socialize. Another engineer scientist was at APM for the week. He is a pro and I learned a lot from him. Horace & I will be seeing him again in a couple of weeks... we will be doing some hefty upgrade project during TMO in April.

Mom came visit on Friday as well..On Saturday, it was awesome as we worked very hard together for "ME".....Melvin and Adam were working on the rusted gutters while Dave was trimming the trees....emily could only supervise....! woof woof

A & Boringfish went to the coast on Sunday... visited the imfamous Oregon Tillamook cheese factory.. had some ice-cream, oysters & clam chowder...

I am a little behind in downloading and posting pic ...Please check for future time.

Janet is in town!

The week was a little hard to get by.. New year... gotta focus. (D is missing in action)

Friday, I went to E-town after work with A. It was an interesting evening with wine and dinner and cheese and many candles......

Saturday, it was pretty hectic, as we went to home depot to get stuff for PM; got a 32 ft ladder....Scott & Jenny were in town too... quite a fun night for all 3 of us...a lot of hidding from the cops....another good point was brough up though? Anyone wanna go to China with me? Will I ever find happiness with a partner? Mosquito, are you ready?

Sunday: It was fabulous to see Janet (A) again. It has been ages since our last encounter. She looks great & we chilled! I also gave Adam a tour at where I work days in and days out. I wonder what he thinks of the place? Dirty? stinky? Loud?

Work week 2 has been slow... trying to get back into my combat mode from the holidays. Polar angle trials and trips to Priciple office (PI) were nerve wrecking. Planning for the DAF outage was unsatisfying... again... one of those bad communication loop. In work life, I'm behind at work in so many level and eventually, I think process projects will keep me busy to where I won't be doing any foreman work this month. In home life, I am working toward my new year resolution, I think the outcome will be painful. It has been wonderful all along and I hate to imagine that in 6 months, my high will be at the bottom of a dump. I mean who can have it all? Is it too much to ask if I want it all?

I have been working with a ChE from Federal Way on this HB/profile/polar angle trial. He is a cool guy. Afterall, we are gonna mount the jet velocity scanner at the HB. Yeah! This week, I got to meet JY several times ....aiaiai! Parview is coming,

Squid & Whale

Work is hectic... what else is new?

Oh I met Stephanie and Finsen (new envirno interns)... both ChE.
People kept asking me if I am related to Finsen (we have the same last name.. small world... I guess our ancestors were somehow related..... millions year ago.. aren't we all?)

Saw Squid and whale the other night.. very disturbing family movie...

New Year Eve.

For New year eve, we had hotpot dinner at my place, it was quite a fun nite. The 4 of us were having a blast. Then, A came over, surprised me and got quite a reaction out of me. As we continued to celebrate the new year's eve with partying at Rosemary's, I got myself pretty drunk and poured wine all over me & the carpet. I confessed that definitely was a rare & special occasion.

For the new year day, I was cleaning up my place and doing some moving from my old place....finally..
