Super Fly

I was the safety monitor - looking sharp in my safety gear and baggy small-size overalls. My pants legs still dragged on the ground even after some trimming, and I got some good comments and a yummy snicker bar. I've made the big time now. I sure do look funny in my large size reflective jacket. People are now talking about the motivator becoming fear more than love, and although it has not made too big an impact on me, I can see how they feel. Still, this kind of tough love is what will keep us in business. A difficult transition, but the outcome should be worth it.

I didn't do much for St. Pat's day - just waiting for the drunken hordes to pull out my fence and poop in my yard. The usual festivites (r-mates). I made the sacrifice to come to Portland and subject myself to motherly love for a day. Happy B-day momma. I am looking forward to my Canada trip, but a little apprehensive about a car-trip with mom and grandma. I may have to drive for my own safety.

Mrs. Rachel Lane is now an international super fly.
Fiona, I miss ya!

Crazy Times for the Paper Crew

Finally I have been recognized as the DAF assistant superintendant. I've been hard at work prepping for my first big project - TMO is keeping me busy covering all the bases, while still keeping things moving on Parcview. Lots of juggling to keep up the progress on multiple fronts. I feel like I'm in charge of janitorial with all the clean-up details I've been arranging.

Emily took off this week, and I was craving her belly all week - I will get my fix on the weekend.

Next to the DAF we have our new dry strength storage - hambyville/lambyville is taking off. Our efforts to perfect our think tank has been sidetracked by jealousy over our monitors - can't we all just get along? We're going to end up running from room to room just to keep track of our own systems. What a waste of time.

I have busy weekend duties again, with yard work, a new tenant and babysitting mom. Being on call for the weekend, my only excitement was an italian dinner courtesy of the OSU faculty - unfortunately I was not feeling well, so I really did not get to enjoy it. On sunday Adam & I went to cascadia park - nice drive, but the walk was nothing special. Apparently I am a popular partner with my friends - I'm the #1 marriage option, under the name "Rachel Lane". My name is Rachel, pleased to meet you. TMO countdown is running - T-minus four weeks. Lots more to do to make this run smoothly.

Changes at the mill are getting to be pretty unfortunate - first we lost our foodservice of fifty years, then we lost our free soda-pop, and now are candy is gone - even muffins and bagels are gone. You can have my cookies when you pry them from my cold, dead hands.

Boringfish at Hoodoo

Boringfish had fun at Hoodoo with Dave, riding the Easy Rider and the Manzanita until her butt could take no more. Here I am showing off my smile.

Week of Work and Puppy Love

I never thought I smelled all that bad after working at the mill, but a coworker made a comment that made me think about the smells of the paper mill... apparently my perfume is foul condensate - and I thought I smelled so good! Emily has been giving me a long face, and making a mess. We can't really blame her - a doggie can only wait so long. Now we have a lifetime supply of pet stain remover.

The career fair was fun, plenty of visitors and stories to share with them. I even had a picture taken, which reminded me of the last time I visited the career fair. Good times. It is official - Grandma is going to be coming to America in May!

Two projects that I have been getting some help with - DS and DAF. DS is making progress, but we had some major trouble with DAF - serious frustration, but it seems to have subsided for now. Commander has it under control, I guess.

Weather and schedule have not been favorable for doggie park - Sunday will be the big play day. Work was a killer. My TMO project and parcview are keeping me busy, and I am making some progress.

Last weekend I went to a string concert (Stravinsky's Symphony of Psalms) on Saturday while I was on call. Mostly hanging around the house - with a few visitors. I was assigned a helper for TMO who has a large amount of experience to share - it is wonderful to pick the brain of true experts.

I'm physically worn out from all the duties at work, combined with doggy duties - she sure does keep me going.

I saw Pink Martini on Thursday, and spent too much time watching the pledge drive. Next time I will have to see them live - that is my favorite.

Looks like the house will be a little bit more busy soon - my secret tenant is moving in soon. It will be nice to have another friendly face to come home to - and to keep an eye on the place. I think we will get along well, and now I can stop worrying about placing ads.
