This unit is a much smaller and easily hiked location with trails between a 1/4 mile up to about a mile plus. This unit also provided an opportunity to see and touch imprints of fossilized plants that were left there when the volcanic mudflows, or lahars, engulfed the area. Not far from the Clarno unit is also where many of the mammals have been unearthed and some are on display at the Paleontology Center. -hiked the Trail of the Fossils and Geologic Time Trail Fossil Museum https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g51871-d10237186-Reviews-John_Day_Fossil_Beds_National_Monument_Sheep_Rock-Fossil_Oregon.html Bush's Pasture Park.
