The goal was set in the beginning of the year, I first failed in April when I bought a purse. Things were going well till June and all the summer sales, I lost all my abilities to resist the shoes and the dresses, I was addicted to sales with its cheap/expensive thrill. Summer flew by fast and now my bank account is badly bruised with along with my ego. The up side from the whole ordeal was the tons of complinments that I got from being girlie adn cutie.....

Fall is approaching, great timing to put shopping and sales into hibernation till 2009.

An extended and costly capital outage

First, the water for the caustic boilout was bery hard to come by, so we screwed up from the timeline bad. Then a roll cover (see roll cover) got damaged in the press section wreck, and we had to a cut a brand new piece of clothing to be replaced by another brand new piece of felt, we screwed up costly on that one. Then the 2nd attempt of start up was plagued with a run-away stock pump with huge RPM and the wrong JW ratio.The wet end was a mess! On the up side, the new profile gauging and control system is wonderful with full support from (Metso, ABB and CAS)! (see rainbow roll- oh so pretty fish and taco wrap!)
Gary's statement: " crappy felt with good pick up " really hit my spot in my heart. To top all these, the AC drive and PLC of the biocide system got fried during the shutdown, sure power surge did it, so they said.... The bugs are so lively and happy and they are practically laughing at me.

What I learned from all these.. how to be a cool and non-excitable engineer/papermaker/manager when life give you a really bad hand of cards and you have everything to bet against you!

Dark August: capital outage and safety record

I am part of a million dollars project...but the shut at the wet end had NOT been going well. 1 more day to work on it and 5 hours fo me to sleep before I get back on the interstate.

Safety is a top focus, folks were getting hurt at the jobsite left and right in 2008's 2nd and 3rd Qs. IP-ALB had 1 recordable in July. NP and LV had 3 recordables in the past 3 months with many stitches counting. Bump cap is not too far away from reality. Then..here we have news about Workers burned by "Black Liquor" in GA.

Local Profitability: we bit SPL by half of 100 in July. It will be interesting to see how we fight for survival in this digitial-electronic informationa age, readership is way down. Up North, the pink slips are being hang out and I will be saying bye bye to a few ones at FW after the box biz bye bye, they are mostly scientists. But young Kevin Y is an exceptiona, I don't know his story but I am sure I will hear from him in FB and NAAAP.

I sweated a lot today because of 3 reasons:

1. WJ, 2310 and I went hiking at Silver falls. But really, I was really focused on my power walking, scouting for bears, dancing with the rattle snakes and chasing squireee on my doggie behalfs. It was a great work out and I am feeling a bit sored.
2. Hot summer weather in OR. Do I need to say more, thanks to the one who invented AC! I repeat not a fan, not a swamp cooler but an AIR-Conditioner!
3. Chow time: eating really spicy noodles, ban-chan and Korean hot wings! and really yummy shaved ice with fruits.....What would life be with/o H-mart food court?

I am getting sentimental on this subject…Weyerhaeuser Completes Sale of Assets to International Paper, it is harder for me to say goodbye than I anticipated. I checked and found out that all CBPR are gone from the people and profile list. Nothing would show they had ever existed in the network. They are ghost now and they are no longer US.

2 weeks ago, I received action notice to stop my directory migration to IP. After being said and done, I was added to the FW server and this morning, I am one of the many that had called 7373 to report a discruption in my data flow. I am disabled to all my files.
