Where is the end of the tunnel?
Why did I eat that sandwich for lunch?
After a really difficult start up effort at the stacks, the sheet finally sat on the reel at 12:30 AM. I left the mill at my max 1* hours and wasn’t able to chip in my help to the crewat startup, then shortly after that, the starch make down system decided to give up. That really helps made my day on Friday! Gelatin was so smelly and sticky!
Dryer can inspection was a thrilling experience, now I pretty much have most of the infamous vessels on my entry list. I can hold my head up high now~! Wait a minute, I should avoid being crowned as the designated inspectors in the near future. but I can smell it coming~~!
Rumor was verified, my old caption, MR. O found the lawn in IA is greener; thus he decided to move east and go inland to a Big W-recycled mill! I am somewhat suprised and I wish him well in the very very very very flat land!
Ruby, I needed that really bad!
This blog is a way for me to communicate with web browsing friends all over the world, and will serve as a virtual diary for me to share my perspective on the weird in the world.

Oregon State vs. N. Carolina
They WON the college World Series, back to back, beating the same team!!!!!!!
Knocked Up was a pretty funny movie.
Knocked Up was a pretty funny movie.
Someone passed this on to BoringFish, hope you may get some laugh out of this!
Words Women Use
1.) Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right, and you need to shut up.
2.) Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means half an hour. Don't be mad about this, it is just the same 5 minutes you use when it's your turn to help do things around the house.
3.) Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine (see #1).
4.) Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!
5.) Loud Sigh: This is not actually a word but a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing . (Refer back to #3 for the meaning of nothing.)
6.) That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. "That's okay" means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.
7.) Thanks: A woman is thanking you - do not question or faint. Just say you're welcome.
8.) Whatever: Is a women's way of saying "%@&* YOU!"
9.) Don't worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking "what's wrong" - for the woman's response, refer to #3.

My baby was gone 2 years ago today.
Other news:
Kite festival in Lincoln City this weekend.
Fourier transform spectroscopy
New neighbor: It turned out that one of the interns is my neighbor at the apartment building, right down the hall. I guess it’s a really small world and we never saw each other in the building in the past month.

OSU vs. UC Irvine 7-1
Beavers are going to the World series final!!!!!!!! They will repeat history. U betcha!
I got to see part of the game, starting from the 5th inning (5-1) at a bar tonight, drinking a white peach sangria & eating my dinner, then a chemical supplier recognized me and he ended up joining me and bought me dinner. That was weird.
Anyway, the game was great, now they will either play against Rice or NCarolina for the title. I showed my love for the Beavers at work today, how? It's been 4.5 years since I wore a Beaver shirt at work. Btw, I got lots of cheers and compliment. Graham was really slow and finally caught on the big news at the end of the day and asked " is there something going on with the Beavers, Is that why everyone wear Beaver shirts around here? " I was shocked to find out that he knew NOTHING abut 2006 series or this year at all.... silly husky!
Go Beavers!

Oregon State vs. Arizona State 12-6
I got to see the most exciting part of the game, starting from the 2nd inning. Beavers racked up 12 runs before I thought they had it in the bag. went to dinner and came back to find they gave up 5 runs to sun devils. I am not too thrilled.....but they took care of the sun devils. Mike Stutes is the man. Darwin Barney (6) & Joey Wong (1) are my fave beavers.

Weekend update/snapshot
What a shinny car! It was a very interesting experience, remind myself not hiring whiny, grumpy middle-aged man ever!
Cute dresses for B-girl
Well anticipated Miss J's 糭
Cuz Lawrence and gf Angela were in WA over the weekend for Gwen S. & Akon concert. It was nice to catch up.
What represents Portland? Mt. Hood, Powell's, 82nd, Multnomah falls? What else?
Pan's Labyrinth
Cheap loans for 'bright' Japanese, what a demeaning concept!
Shanghai seen overtaking Singapore as world's busiest port 1. Singapore, 2. Shanghai, 3. Hong Kong (no....)
KFC gave me a comment "good report"! Yeah! Well, I think Graham helped out a lot verbally, he even asked for a e-copy so that he could distribute it out to TLs, I feel silly.
ok... this is getting weird... I am rambling...
In May, I mentioned that there was a world series of mahjong in Macau, check out the winner and his secret of winning.

OSU Beavers vs. CS Fullerton; 3-2
I got to see the most exciting part of the game, the 8 & 9th innings, but I missed the winning run by 1 inning. It looked liked the Beavers almost lost their composure, but they pulled it together at the end! They will be playing with Arizona State next.

Duanwu Festival 端午節
June 19th is Duanwu 端午節, aka Dragon Boat Festiva!
Whe I was little, grandma would make Zongzi 糭子! This year, I may get some from Miss J, the really cute homemaker~!
From wiki, Japanese and Korean also have Duanwu for differnt reason and on differnt dates, interesting! Duanwu is a public holdiay in Japan, China, Taiwan, Macau & HK.
I was in the high school division race years ago in Portland Rose Festival. Lots of fun!

The report writing is over!
I turned in the report to KFC finally (it sat on his chair). It was a long one with many graphs. My girlie team knew that the topic is really political, so they gave me a hand with some pointers this afternoon. I hope my back is not someone's target, and maybe by next week, I will be walking around with knife & arrow sticking out.
Gary and Graham read it and gave me a thumb up.
Thanks to Birdi, Sara, Gary and Graham.
Now it's waiting time.

My day3 of week24. What do you think?
Partner choice 'shaped by father', oh boy, I would be in trouble... !
Would you believe it? I hope the predcition is some-what true! Worst is Over for North American Paper & Forest Products Industry & maybe after all, I would still have a job!
It's just bizzare! Fundamental Mormons seek recognition for polygamy, can you imagine how those people live?
A friend passed the page to me at work. Just keep clicking your mouse anywhere on the black space when it opens or yet, just click and drag your mouse over it and watch the flower pop up everywhere, try this!
Birdi ordered lunch for sharings, according to her I should expect an gastrointestinal adventure.... sounds scary!

The start of week 24
I am really tired of fighting bugs every week, they just won't go away. Machine is dirty and I am in crisis mode every day!!!!!!!!!
Actually, I am very nervous on an upcoming project in PM1 outage on June 28th (work week 26). I was assigned to be the dryer cans inspector back in March/April, how do I get so lucky? Don't ask me, considered BoringFish is NOT a licensed PE or a metallurgy expert. I was supposed to have a practice entry in May‘s outage and be in charge for June’s inspection. May’s outage was moved, I never got the learning, and now it’s SHOWTIME.
Besides, being an inspector, I have several boilouts to monitor and utilize the outage as the golden opportunities to sterile the machine. Storage chests will be opened, flushed, washed and killed, killed, killed to bugs. I will be at work probably no later than 4 AM or I need to clone myself!
So now, I will be the project lead on the dryer cans because the real PE on the machine is on his balloon ride vacation in the end of June. For those who know about dryer cans, there is only 1 way to get in & out and it’s only fitted for someone liked me, enormously big! The function of the dryer can is to transfer superheated steam to the paper surface & evaporate the moisture. I hope I won’t have the claustrophobia attack or if I collapse inside the can, I will be the cooked, dead meat! I have a harness & now I am shopping for a retractable lifeline. I love shopping! Or I can think of the cans as a sauna, steamy and toasty!
A typical dryer can is 60 in. in diameter; my entry point is 16 in. x 20 in.
As for reference, this is a 48 in in diameter.

I had a environmental meeting this morning at 6:45 AM, learned about Greenhouse gases and how forestry industries are in the lead to act. Then I found this. China's air, water pollution worsening.
See another entry that I had about the environment.

Beavers are going to the College World Series!
Check out how No. 25 Beavers Advance to College World Series with 8-2 Win! It was a great game, playing against the heavy hitters Michigan Wolverines in the super regionals! Hope they make history again, and repeat the success of being 2006 NCAA baseball champions!

Shout out to Joey Wong (1), Darwin Barney (6) and of course Mike Stutes (33)!

Chilling with an old pal
Not that we are old and wrinkly... but oh my gosh.. I haven't seen Annette for about 4 years, not since she ran away from the great NW and moved to Minneapolis for college. It was also nice to meet her beau, Mike.
We decided to go to downtown sushi land for dinner. They both were fascinated by the converyor sushi concept & we had a blast eating (unknown) fish tempura and vege rolls. We also got some gelato for desserts at Alotto at NW 23rd.
Welcome back! I am looking forwards to the endless fun, Karaoke, movies, sushi party! and I want my tarot card reading about my Prince charming!

C-town
I went to C-town again for what I thought to be a final good bye to 101-house. I am so ready to part with Mr. Trouble. Yes, it’s a he! Please keeps the process moving!
Stopped by Costco and saw a cutie, just a baby. In C-town, I witnessed some doggies in the neighborhood were engaging in some playful “let me bite your head off” game. I was quite shaken by them, I felt really bad afterwards.

Week 23
Dow Jones Reps from NY was here today to present us DJ Gold Awards, very cool smelling the chocolate and perfume scented ads.
I wonder how old I am in dog year.
Some May’s production figure came out: PM1 broke speed record again, but overall, the mill wide efficiency and uptime were the worst year to date (My peers and myself have lots to do to turn it around). On the up side, the safety performance was stamped excellent in the report card ytd that we have some of the lowerest digit in the industry internally & externally and the effort was recognized by the SMT! They presented us with a bronze award for safe mIllions man hour work. I wouldn't be surprised if more safety awards are coming our way. Profitability-wide, we did not bleed in May! $$, Cheers! Also A cross team effort/project between the mill and teh recycled fiber division has landed the WY’s prestigious President’s Award! Way to go!
Calcium Ascorbate was used to make sure my sliced apple is not brown. Co-workers were real concern of me eating preservative everyday.
What is Cyclone_Gonu?
Another week of eating out with desserts. Well, I have a great excuse, my BD! But anyway, I went out with Birdi twice this week and really feeling liked a lunch&dinner combo slut! I will be back on the diet wagon with some healthy eating this coming week!
China acts over poor food safety, well it’s about time!

The Police
BoringFish went to The Police reunion concert tonight in Seattle. Fiction plane was the opening gig. The lead man is Sting's boy. His name is Joe Sumner. The group has a page on MySpace. The concert was at Seattle Center's Key Arena.
It was very fun. It is the 2nd concerts I attended in a large arena. I enjoyed the experience very much, especially watching the drummer, Steward Copeland. Very cool percussionist. Check out the next clip, Truth hits everybody & the drummer.

Hockey & 2007 Stanley Cup
Anaheim Ducks snatched the 2007 Stanley Cup from Ottawa senators......Canadian teams need to work harder next year again! The Wongs are big fan of Edmonton Oilers. My fave team is Vancouver Canucks!
Really old logo, I still have pugs with this!
Around 2006 Stanley Cup semi-final (Oilers vs. Ducks), I was partying with Viv & Mike at Whyte Ave; had a blast! Hope to be in Edmonton again soon!
Here is the 2007playoff score.

Equal pay, equal work? How many overtime do you have weekly?
Baby me!
The threesome
Hair is too long & the face is too puffy (Let's just say forgetting my med!) Having a eating relay this week is too much for me, I will be working on weight control. One more confession: Birdi treated me brownie & ice-cream dessert at lunch! I felt so bad......
Mr.D & Miss J & BoringFish group photo before all of us headed out to the world of bad temptation
With Eric
Sorabol was not cool anymore without its Spicy tofu & seafood stew, the coveryor system and the food selection was NOT impressive
At Pix, we shared Tiki Tiki & Creme Brulee.. oh... Yummy
PS... I walked ok in those 4 inch heel.....it looked pretty good, I admit!

One true surprise would be the wake up call from Buddy Mosquito in HK at 3:30 AM. Either way, with her morning call effort, I still couldn't get up ontime and have to skip 6:15 AM meeting this morning (I will pay for that and stay for the 6:15 PM one instead).
Hang in there, Mosquito, I have your back!
