I'm calling it a night. This is what America is. What America has always been. Ask your black friends if they're surprised. We're not. We weren't last time either. We wake up every day in hostile territory. Behind enemy lines. And still find ways to smile and laugh and create art and try to make the world more beautiful. For anyone new to this feeling of existential disappointment and darkness, welcome. We've been here a long, long, long time. And we keep getting up. And keep pushing forward.
