“Slow progress is still progress. Your speed doesn’t matter; forward is forward.”
Does it occasionally feel you’re making great progress towards your goals while other times it appears that nothing is happening?
Don’t be discouraged by what you cannot see, because plans can come together in unexpected ways. It may help to remember all you have done, instead of ruminating on the to-do list that may be weighing you down.
The thing is, goal attainment is not linear, because there are processes taking place behind the scenes beyond your awareness. It may seem nothing is happening to your way of thinking or that your goals are progressing too slowly. This is only your perception because you are invested in the outcome. Rigid expectations can make you feel disappointed, especially if things don’t happen according to your timeline.
But progress is not dependent on a linear pattern. We believe this model of progress and place expectations on how our goals will be accomplished. Be open to different rhythms, and to unexpected opportunities. When you focus on what you are moving towards, instead of everything that seems to be missing, life has a way of opening up.
“When you’re ready to quit, you are closer than you think.” - Bob Parsons
Never discourage anyone who continually makes progress, no matter how slo, even if that somoene is yourself. - Plato
