#lovewins

The notion of self-abandonment is one that gets me every time: “I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself.” This is the question we must ask in so many relationships, and not just the partnering ones; we must ask it in our relationships with friends, siblings, parents, business partners – everyone, essentially, whose eventual question to us comes down to some version of, “So. Are we gonna prioritize my needs, or yours?”

My answer, more clearly than ever, is that I will prioritize love. More than ever, I prioritize love and truth, mental and emotional freedom, answering deepest longings, providing inner safety and solace – never again (goddess willing) to be led around by fear. More than ever, I choose courage over comfort, soul over settling, not wasting a moment of the gift of Life on Earth. - Becky Vollmer

It doesn't interest me if the story you're talling me is true. I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself, if you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul. - The invitation, by Oriah Mountain Dreamer
