Paperman, love or fate?

A face book friend said and I quoted...
"fate will intervene and push people together. I have never seen love that way. To me love, like most relationships, is a series of choices. It is something that takes effort, something that does require sacrifice (what choice doesn't involve the rejection of other choices?) In this case not just other partners, but small things: choice of movie to watch, perhaps not sleeping well, giving back runs when you are already tired. It also involves the joy of having someone who will support you, and sharing the things you love with someone else, sharing yourself with someone else. Choosing to talk instead of close up, choosing to tackle expressing your feelings in ways that don't hurt your partner. Starting a sentence with "I feel" instead of "you..." These Little choices. Constant choices. It is hard, if doesn't fit well in film, but to me it is that sharing that makes it a relationship, that makes it beautiful...it isn't finding the perfect person that makes it work, it is choosing to build a relationship rather than destroy it. And that is a choice, not fate."
