"People are complicated. Societies and cultures are really complicated … This is not mathematics; this is biology and chemistry. These are living organisms, and it’s messy. And your job as a citizen and as a decent human being is to constantly affirm and lift up and fight for treating people with kindness and respect and understanding. And you should anticipate that at any given moment there’s going to be flare-ups of bigotry that you may have to confront, or may be inside you and you have to vanquish. And it doesn’t stop … You don’t get into a fetal position about it. You don’t start worrying about apocalypse. You say, O.K., where are the places where I can push to keep it moving forward" -Barack Obama.
Here’s What President Obama Told Sasha and Malia After Trump Won the Election

Happy me, happy Gabe.

“Most of my life has been spent trying to shrink myself. Trying to become smaller. Quieter. Less sensitive. Less opinionated. Less needy. Because I didn’t want to be a burden. I didn’t want to be too much or push people away. I wanted people to like me. I wanted to be cared for and valued. I wanted to be wanted. So for years, I sacrificed myself for the sake of making other people happy. And for years, I suffered. But I’m tired of suffering, and I’m done shrinking. It’s not my job to change who I am in order to become someone else’s idea of a worthwhile human being. I am worthwhile. Not because other people think I am, but because I exist, and therefore I matter. My thoughts matter. My feelings matter. My voice matters. And with or without anyone’s permission or approval, I will continue to be who I am and speak my truth. Even if it makes people angry. Even if it makes them uncomfortable. Even if they choose to leave. I refuse to shrink. I choose to take up space. I choose honor my feelings. I choose to give myself permission to get my needs met. I choose me” ~Daniel Keopke
When I chose to let you go, there was no great moment of triumph. There wasn’t an earth-shattering epiphany that changed my life, where music played and the universe conspired to bring everything together for good. There was no conflict, no turmoil and no struggle. No internal argument. No weighing of pros and cons. No decision to be analyzed to death—even by me, who cannot make a decision without weeks of obsessive thought over every possible outcome. There were only two words, when I chose to let you go: No more. No more will I measure my worth against your opinion. No more will I be pressed into the shapes you carved for me. No more will I tell my heart to quiet down, ashamed of its clatter. No more will there be blood on my feet from the eggshells I walked on as I tried not to give cause for your disapproval. No more will I anguish over the ways you misunderstood me. No more will I fight to justify the intention of my heart. No more will I beg for you to see me, the real me—to know me, to love me. No more will I live my life for you. When I chose to let you go, there was no holy encounter. The stars did not collapse from the sky and cascade into the oceans. There was no ferocious wind that rattled the walls or blazing fire that consumed all within its destructive path. There was only quiet resolution, the silent death of leaves that drift to the ground as frost begins to waste them away. And there I found myself, in the barren ground where you once stood; I came to understand there must be winter. Winter in all its loss, its grief, its letting go. There must be a time for old things to die, that new things may be born. When I chose to let you go, it was for me. I learned to love myself even when you made me feel I deserved no love. To honor my own needs, my own heart and my own potential. To walk my own path, not yours. To not be pulled back into your confines while my spirit yearned to be free. When I chose to let you go, I made coffee, ate toast, and folded clothes. I went to yoga and collected my mail and paid my bills. There was nothing out of place on the outside of my ordinary life—no visible change, nothing new or different. There was only surrender. One moment. One breath. I chose to let you go. And in doing so, I chose me. ~ Author: Kathy Parker

Give thanks to what I have.

’ve learned a lot this year … I learned that things don’t always turn out the way you planned, or the way you think they should. And I’ve learned that there are things that go wrong that don’t always get fixed or get put back together the way they were before. I’ve learned that some broken things stay broken, and I’ve learned that you can get through bad times and keep looking for better ones, as long as you have people who love you. — Jennifer Weiner

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A MATURE RELATIONSHIP AND AN IMMATURE RELATIONSHIP
When two souls fall in love, there is nothing else but the yearning to be close to the other. The presence is felt through a held hand, a voice heard and the sight of a smile. Even through a simple touch. Souls do not have calendars or clocks, nor do they understand the notion of time or distance. They only know it feels right to be with one another. This is the reason why you miss someone so much when they are not around. Your soul feels their absence— it doesn’t realize the separation is temporary. ~ Lang Leav

I think everyone at some point, goes through that one moment where they think “my God, I can’t do this”. But you know what? You can. No matter how close you are to the edge, no matter how badly you feel like giving up, or think it’s best to do so rather than have to put up with the pain – don’t. Don’t lose hope that things will get better. Don’t give up, because there is someone out there who will make you smile in a way no one else ever could. Keep that glimmer of hope alive in your heart, because someone is out there searching for your smile. So wipe your tears and keep your head held high. - Unknown
I’m the kind of person who tries their best not to take life for granted, to live a lot, make memories and to love with everything I have. I’ll never give up for I believe in myself, but most of all I’ll fight for myself. Sure I’ll screw up. I’ll make mistakes but I’ll try to learn from them. In relationships, I won’t trust you until you’ve proven yourself. But I’ll love you with everything I have.- Unknown
I don’t want a perfect relationship. I want someone I can trust and who won’t be cheating on me physically or emotionally. Everyone needs someone who loves them completely and who won’t play games with their heart. Last but not least, I’m a strong believer that when it comes to relationships, remaining faithful is not an option but a priority. Loyalty means the world. – Bns.

The land of the lawless, racists and sexist, well the voters had spoken. They voted for the next fascist POTUS. GOP will control the house, the senate, the governors, probably the Supreme Court, and the White House. They are here to roll back the progresses this great nation have worked so hard since WWII. Affordable Care Act, the Defense of Marriage Act, the Dodd-Frank Financial Reform Act, GONE. Roe vs. Wade, GONE! That means they will control your uteruses. Watch out, WOMEN, we will be punished because we have blood coming out everywhere. Gones are your freedom: your freedom of press, your freedom of religion, you know, the Bill of rights. They will cut medicaid and medicare, food stamp, scientific research, domestic spending, privatize social security, and prolonging the oppression and social injustice. Clean Air Act & EPA, what are those? Minorities registries, human-induced earthquakes, eminent domain, waterboarding, lead enriched drinking water will be the norm. And let's not forget coal, We will be filling the air your breathe with this black gold, railing in all over from one coast to another. Oil spill in the Gulf, just extra nutrient for the human food chain. Just keep on digging, mining and drilling. We will be winners because we beat China everyday. We will have beautiful great Wall and don't forget those detention teams are coming for anyone that is non white male. And all these will make America great again!!!! And who are the benefactors: The Russians, the Chinese, The Saudis..and of course, MNC. Roads and pot holes, who cares, poor school system.. no worry... who needs school? The GOP house once wanted to abolished. IRS, EPA and Dept. of Ed. President Obama had been holding the line against Tea-party inspired policies for the last 8 years. This time, GOP's wish list will be fulfilled There are no balance of power when one party control all 3 branches of government. Did we not learn from history? #NEVERAGAIN.

We’ve witnessed some gross habits, and we’ve put up with each other’s annoying quirks. And yet, we still pick each other every single day, even when we fight or drive the other crazy, because we also share all the most important values, even if we don’t necessarily agree on every little thing in life. We can make each other laugh until we cry. We support each other’s dreams, and we do whatever we can to make it happen. We chose this love.
